INDIANAPOLIS -- Charlie Butcher of Santa Barbara, Calif. is USAC’s inaugural Junior Ford Focus Champion. Butcher finished finished third in Saturday night’s series finale at the Ventura (Calif.) Raceway and ended up 80 points ahead of points runner-up Tyler Edwards, who was 10th Saturday.
Sean Dodenhoaf of Bakersfield, Calif. won Saturday night’s 20-lap feature event at Ventura, beating David Perry Jr., Butcher, Harris Brooks and Andrew Mulhearn. Brooks and Kevin Michnovicz won heat races. Butcher led the first six laps and Dodenhoaf led the rest.
USAC’s 2008 Ford Focus racing calendar concludes November 27 at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale, Calif. with the running of the Ford Focus National Championship for the Henry Ford Sweepstakes Trophy.
